What your Qurbani donation pays for

Each price covers the whole Qurbani. That means buying a healthy animal of the right age at a local market, caring for it until Eid, the slaughter, butchering, transport and handing out the meat. 90% of what you give goes to the animal, the slaughter and the distribution. The other 10% pays for transport, running costs and the photos and video we send you.

When your Qurbani happens

Qurbani is valid from after the Eid prayer on 10 Dhul Hijjah until sunset on the 12th. In 2027 Eid is expected on Sunday, May 16 in the US and UK, and on Monday, May 17 in Bangladesh, where your animal is slaughtered. We slaughter on the first day of Eid there wherever we can, since that is the best time. The Eid al-Adha 2027 date guide explains how the date is set.

Giving for your family or for someone who has died

Add one name for each share in the box on the form. A goat or sheep is one share. A cow, buffalo or camel has seven, so you can cover several family members with one animal. You can also give Qurbani for a parent or relative who has passed away. If you’re not sure who has to give, read is Qurbani mandatory and the rules for families.

Refunds and tax

If you need to cancel, tell us as soon as you can. Once your animal has been sacrificed, the act of worship is done and it can’t be refunded. Qurbani Charity is not a registered 501(c)(3), so donations are not tax-deductible. Questions? Email [email protected], or read how our Qurbani donation works.
